1. Why do you blog?

Often a mom’s appearance is the last priority in her busy life, yet, as we all know, it is so important to our self-esteem.  Just dabbing on a bit of lip gloss can make you feel like a million bucks.  Motherhood shouldn’t be synonymous with baggy sweatpants and an oversized tee-staying up-to-date on fashion and beauty trends shouldn’t be a time or money consuming process.  Make Me a Hot Mama strives simplify your life by sorting through the chaos of the fashion world to bring mom-friendly style advice and tips in an easy-to-use format through our website, http://hotmamafashion.blogspot.com.  Recently, we’ve partnered with Widsets (a reputable, free service sponsored by Nokia that is compatible with most major service providers and phones that have mobile web capabilities) to give busy, chronically time challenged moms on the go access to our articles and features through their mobile phone.

2.  How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been a dabbling blogger since 2006. My most recent projects include Make Me a Hot Mama and Blab ‘N Bytes Freak News Daily, a round up the best of  the wild and wacky to give you a daily overview of odd news of interest in five categories: Celebrities, Parenting/Children, Religion, U.S. Politics, and World Politics.

3. Do you have any advice for blogging newbies?

Create fresh, relevant content that *you* are passionate about on a semi-regular basis (don’t drown your audience with information, but don’t starve them, either. Slow and steady *quality* is superior to an excessive quantity of slap-dash content). Don’t focus too much on your own personal life- try to take your personal experiences and think of ways to help/entertain your readers instead of simply “journaling” on line. Most importantly, blog for your readers.

4. Do you like to chat with your visitors through comments?

I love to hear from my readers- ya’ll are why I keep blogging. I appreciate any and all comments-negative and positive. If you disagree with me, I’m especially interested in hearing your ideas.  Make Me a Hot Mama has a weekly feature called You Share where I turn over the blog to YOU, my readers, to share your fashion and beauty related stories, product reviews, tips, and tricks. If you are a writer, I’d love publish your work. You will maintain all rights to your work and can re-post or re-publish your work anywhere, provided that you don’t market it as exclusive content.  However, any mom/grandmom is welcome to submit, regardless of whether or not they are a writer-I will help you get your content publication-ready. 5. How much time per day/week do you spend writing and reading blogs?

Haha..too much…I get so wrapped up in finding the latest and greatest stuff to share and then I’ll go on writing binges that last until midnight. It’s kind of addicting.

I am a freelance writer/editor, so I do work for some other sites occasionally.
